Cory Booker told Stephen Colbert he's running for president of the United States because he believes in America

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) told Stephen Colbert that he’s running for president of the United States (POTUS) because he believes in America.

“America history is a perpetual testimony to the achievement of
the impossible. We can get anything done we want to. We’ve
proven that… That’s why I’m running for president because I
believe in us. I believe in what we can achieve together and I
want to start expanding people’s vision for what’s possible in our
country again,” Booker said to Colbert.

The first term senator from the great state of New Jersey was part of that first wave of Democrats who threw their hats in the ring for president.

Mind you, the space in the ring has gotten much smaller since Booker first jumped into the ring.

There are now 14 Democrats fighting it out in the ring and former Vice President of the United States (VEEP) Joe Biden waiting it out in the wings in the hope of becoming the top contender to go up against the reigning champ, Donald Trump Sr.

Booker isn’t worried, though. He knows his one-two knockout punch of bringing health care and good schools to everybody is why he’ll be the last person standing.

Booker said to Colbert, “We should be a country where health care is a right, where our schools and the determination of a kid’s success doesn’t determine what zip code you live in but every child has great schools. These are things that we should be dreaming big about again.”
